#TASTING #SCOTCH: Arran I 19 year old (1996) | Old Malt Cask | 50% Distilled in September 1996 and bottled September 2015 by Hunter Laing for their Old Malt Cask range. Definite notes of rhubarb ranging from bitter fruit to sweeter strained juices which are tempered by a little, enough, sulphur. On the palate its hard boiled rhubarb and custard sweets which linger into a long finish on the tongue. #whisky #whiskey #singlemalt #scotch #arranwhisky #oldmaltcask #whiskysample #island #scotland https://www.thewhiskybarrel.com/arran-19-year-old-1996-old-malt-cask-whiskey-scotland #WhetYourWhiskyWhistleWednesday: Bunnahabhain 8yr (2007) Hepburn's Choice @hlaingwhisky https://t.co/4VO4i0HXJh https://t.co/EkGOXKjiMo

Littlemill

Littlemill whisky Distillery was established in 1772 to the west of Bowling by the north shore of the River Clyde and on the main road into Glasgow. Subsequent modifications during the 1930s resulted in a number of novel features including double ventilation towers which sat over a single drying kiln and pot stills with rectifiers rather than the more traditional swan necks. The combination of pot and column stills in Littlemill was designed to produce malt whisky which was expected to mature quickly. At the time of closure in 1994 Littlemill Distillery was the oldest working malt whisky distillery in Scotland. Demolished, Littlemill is a lost Scottish distillery although the shell of the manager’s house remains.

Nose: Sweet sherry, molasses, leather, tobacco leaves and cinnamon spices.

Palate: Very busy on the tongue, fizzy sherbet, liquorice, tobacco, melted butter and long and dry sherry finish.
