NEW SCOTCH: We have a fantastic, rare new whisky in stock. Ever heard of Garnheath Distillery? Probably not. Only producing whisky for 21 years between 1865 to 1986 before being demolished in 1988, whisky from this Lost Scottish Distillery is very hard to come by. Our friends at Independent bottling company Morrison & MacKay have released a very limited 41 year single grain bottling and we LOVE it. We had a wee taste and you can read our blog here: https://www.thewhiskybarrel.co.uk/blog/post/tasting-garnheath This one is rather special! Linkwood 30 Year Old 1984 vintage Speyside single malt Scotch whiskey. Singe cask hogshead #8250 bottled March 2014 by Douglas Laing & Co. for the Director's Cut series. 69 numbered bottles.

Nose: Still fresh, citric sweet & fragrant for its age - carrying a spiced caramelised peaches style.

Palate: Opens sweet & now spicy – richly vanilla’d + some oak and a chewy malt quality.

Finish: Long & velvety – still nicely spiced - runs drier to charred oak + orange marmalade.

Linkwood

Linkwood Distillery was established in 1821 by Peter Brown in the Scotland’s Speyside whisky region. Linkwood Distillery is a malt whisky distillery equipped with six stills and whilst a large percentage of Linkwood whisky flows into blends of scotch an increasing volume is appearing as single malt whisky and there are some excellent independent releases of Linkwood single malt whisky. Linkwood Distillery participates in the Spirit of Speyside Whisky Festival.
