Invergordon opened in 1961 and supports The Invergordon Distillery Pipe Band. A single Coffey Still was increased to three in 1963 and an additional and much larger column still was introduced in 1978 in order to produce neutral spirit. Ben Wyvis malt distillery was built in its grounds in 1965 although it closed in 1976 and was demolished in 1977.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003c!-- pagebreak --\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eA beautiful dark gold coloured whisky with a robust, full bodied nose of sweet butter shortbread, vanilla, and stewed rhubarb. Smooth and creamy on the palate, the sweet vanilla fruity notes giving way to a toffee apple, nuts and oak flavour.
