Convalmore joined the James Buchanan blending empire and together they coped admirably with prohibition. A continuous sill was installed in 1909 and produced malt whisky until 1915 when it was removed and was replaced by four pot stills. The tall square four stage still house which housed Convalmore’s continuous still is still standing and is one of only two remaining in Scotland, the other is at the site of Kirkliston Distillery near Edinburgh.
