NEW SCOTCH: We have a fantastic, rare new whisky in stock. Ever heard of Garnheath Distillery? Probably not. Only producing whisky for 21 years between 1865 to 1986 before being demolished in 1988, whisky from this Lost Scottish Distillery is very hard to come by. Our friends at Independent bottling company Morrison & MacKay have released a very limited 41 year single grain bottling and we LOVE it. We had a wee taste and you can read our blog here: https://www.thewhiskybarrel.co.uk/blog/post/tasting-garnheath This one is rather special! Glenmorangie Ealanta 1993 Private Collection, 19 year old Highland single malt Scotch whiskey. Matured in heavily toasted American new white oak.

Jim Murray's Whisky Bible Best Whisky in the World 2014!

Aroma: Toffee, butterscotch, vanilla, and a curious hint of stewed fruits. Classic Glenmorangie mentholic top-note, interwoven with an unusual nuttiness, reminiscent of Brazil nuts in toffee.

Taste: Candied orange peel, sugar coated almonds, sweet vanilla and marzipan.

Finish: The taste goes on and on, finally giving way to some oak-derived spices - clove, ginger and a hint of aniseed.

Glenmorangie

Glenmorangie malt whisky Distillery was established in 1843 by William Matheson at Morangie Farm where distilling had been practiced as early as 1703. Glenmorangie is situated on the shore of the Dornoch Firth at Tain in Scotland’s Highland whisky region. Tall gin stills were installed rather than shorter whisky stills when the distillery was established and so Glenmorangie has ten of the tallest whisky stills in Scotland standing  5.14m tall. Glenmorangie Distillery has a visitor centre which offers distillery tours.
