Rare highland single malt from the closed distillery. Bottled by Gordon & MacPhail in 2008 under their Rare Old label.

On the nose mulled fruits with hints of cooking apples. Smoky palate initially with charred oak and dry spices. Fruity notes with roasted malt and dry grass flavours.

Glenlochy

Glenlochy Distillery was established at Inverlochy on the north-eastern side of Fort William in 1898 with a railway siding connecting to the newly opened Fort William railway line. Glenlochy Distillery obtained its water from the slopes of Scotland’s highest mountain. The only official release of Glenlochy single malt whisky was in Diageo’s Rare Malts range. Closed in 1983 and dismantled in 1986 however a number of Glenlochy Distillery buildings are still standing having been converted to private accommodation.
