Despite its successful operations, Glenlochy closed in \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cstrong\u003e1983\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003cspan\u003e and was dismantled in \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cstrong\u003e1986\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003cspan\u003e, though several of its historic buildings remain, now repurposed into private residences.
