NEW SCOTCH: We have a fantastic, rare new whisky in stock. Ever heard of Garnheath Distillery? Probably not. Only producing whisky for 21 years between 1865 to 1986 before being demolished in 1988, whisky from this Lost Scottish Distillery is very hard to come by. Our friends at Independent bottling company Morrison & MacKay have released a very limited 41 year single grain bottling and we LOVE it. We had a wee taste and you can read our blog here: https://www.thewhiskybarrel.co.uk/blog/post/tasting-garnheath This one is rather special! Fettercairn 1997 vintage Highland single malt Scotch whisky. Matured in a Refill Sherry hogshead and bottled 2013 by Gordon & MacPhail for the Connoisseurs Choice range.

Nose: Grassy notes, with hints of toasted malt and some delicate hints of tropical fruits. A touch of Sherry wood lingers and some nutty aromas.

Palate: An initial burst of chilli spices, with a defined hint of toasted malt. Sweet and fruity, with a touch of lemon grass emerging.

Fettercairn

Fettercairn Distillery was founded in 1824 on the edge of Fettercairn village at the foot of the Grampian Mountains in Scotland’s Highland whisky region. Fettercairn Distillery is a malt whisky distillery and operates a unique system whereby cold water tumbles down the exterior of its two spirit stills which contributes to the lighter floral character of Fettercairn malt whisky. Visitors are welcome at Fettercairn Distillery visitor centre which offers distillery tours.
