Cameronbridge 23 Year Old 1990 Vintage Lowland single grain Scotch whisky. Single cask #9860 bottled June 2013 by Hunter Laing & Co. for the Sovereign series.

The nose starts on a bourbon and vanilla sweetness, with notes of Demerara sugar and a soft spiciness. On the first sip, sweet bourbon and cereal notes, developing into lightly spiced banana and vanilla. A deli9cate finish, introducing mild notes of spice to sweet fudge.

Cameronbridge

Cameronbridge Distillery was established by John Edington and Robert Haig in 1813 as a malt whisky distillery on the banks of the River Leven at Windygates in Fife in Scotland’s Lowland whisky region. John Haig acquired Cameronbridge Distillery in 1824 and installed two Stein’s continuous stills in 1830. Coffey’s continuous stills were added by the mid1880s and Cameronbridge produced both grain and malt whiskies until 1929. Now a large distilling complex and producing grain spirit for the Diageo scotch portfolio. A small proportion of Cameronbridge grain whisky is nurtured in quality casks to produce superb, aged, single grain whisky and single cask grain whisky.
