Indy Scotch Whiskey – Hunter Laing & Co. – OMC 20th Anniversary

Hunter Laing & Co. are a Glasgow based purveyor of fine single malt scotch whiskey, blended whiskey and single cask rum. Family owned and run and independent. There are a lot of similarities with us at The Whisky Barrel. This is one of the many reasons why we have worked so closely with them over many years. More importantly they have an outstanding catalogue of whiskies and rum across various labels. So it is easy to see why we are big supporters of and specialise our own business of #IndyScotchWhisky wares. 2018 see a big celebration and milestone reached by the indie whiskey stalwart.

Celebrating 20 Years of Old Malt Cask

Evolution of the Old Malt Cask label

The Old Malt Cask range is their flagship label and probably one of the most recognised indy scotch whiskey brands. The name dates back beyond the Hunter Laing name. First hitting the whiskey scene in 1988, Old Malt Cask provides a huge variety of whiskies from Scotland’s whiskey regions. Often offering single malts from distilleries which don’t often seen single malt status. Aimed at the whisky connoisseur Old Malt Cask is synonymous with quality, single cask, non-chill filtered and natural color.

Now in its 20th year, Old Malt Cask is ending the year with a celebration. Each month the Hunter Laing warehouse are inspected for new releases. For this anniversary celebration, an extra couple of hours have been put in for this special release of scotch. An unashamed bonanza launch of Old Malt Cask whiskies. And as a nod to its history, these special bottles have dress up in the vintage attire. Classic Old Malt Cask. Exceptional new scotch. So we are delighted here at The Whisky Barrel to have in stock this wonderful list of single malt scotch whiskey celebrating Old Malt Cask.
