Matured in a single sherry butt for 11 years. Selected by posh London wine and spirits merchants Berry Bothers & Rudd exclusively for TheWhiskyBarrel.com, this is a fine example of a Speyside single malt Scotch brimming with richly dried fruits, toffee and a wisp of smoke. Christmas in a bottle – a very festive whiskey indeed.
Bottled at full strength for the first time, Big Peat now kicks like a mule. Islay blended malt containing malts from Ardbeg, Coal Ila, Bowmore and Port Ellen distilleries.
The first 5 year old general release from Islay’s farm distillery. A small batch bottling matured in American ex-bourbon casks.
Fully matured in a fresh sherry cask and bottled in August. The bright ruby red hue is the most impressive colour we have seen all year and the sweet sherried nose is one to treasure.
Matured in sherry casks for 21 years, Glendronach Parliament is a new addition to an already impressive line-up from the Speyside distillery established in 1826. This a richly flavoured Scotch whisky, matured in Oloroso and Pedro Ximinez sherry casks, and boasts ripe autumnal fruits including blackberries and homeade plum pudding on the nose and palate. A big, rich, rewarding dram for the holiday season.
The final release of the annual PC-series which began in 2005. This time next year we can look forward to a ten year old core expression, but for now you can enjoy a smoky nine year old boasting crème brulée, biscuity and shortbread flavours.
Matured in a single sherry cask for 27 years on the Isle of Islay. Especially selected for TheWhiskyBarrel.com this is a spectacular expression of peated single malt from Caol Ila Distillery which has been distilling by the shore of the Sound of Islay since 1846. A vibrant dram boasting peat embers, citrus fruits, sweet orange marmalade and iodine. One for the fireside.
Matured for 14 years in ex-bourbon barrels and a further 12 years double maturing in a sherry butt. This, the third in a series of four casks, is our favourite so far brimming with sweet sherry festive flavours.
Premium blended Scotch containing 90% malt whiskey and bottled at full strength. Batch 2 contains whiskies ranging from 40 to 44 years old from the following distilleries: Bunnahabhain, Glenlivet, Tamdhu and Invergordon. Just a few bottles left – when they have gone there won’t be anymore.
Matured in a single sherry butt – rarely do we do we see sherry wood expressions from Glenrothes distillery. A palate packed with sugary sweet Scotch tablet and orange marmalade.
Just in time for Christmas, our chums at Douglas Laing have come up trumps with a spectacular Speyside’s Finest. If the colour has not given it away yet, the nose certainly does – distinctly sherried and richly spiced with dried dates, warm toffee & ginger.
