NEW SCOTCH: We have a fantastic, rare new whisky in stock. Ever heard of Garnheath Distillery? Probably not. Only producing whisky for 21 years between 1865 to 1986 before being demolished in 1988, whisky from this Lost Scottish Distillery is very hard to come by. Our friends at Independent bottling company Morrison & MacKay have released a very limited 41 year single grain bottling and we LOVE it. We had a wee taste and you can read our blog here: https://www.thewhiskybarrel.co.uk/blog/post/tasting-garnheath This one is rather special! Bladnoch 1993 vintage Highland single malt Scotch whisky. Matured in Refill Sherry Hogsheads and bottled 2013 by Gordon & MacPhail for the Connoisseurs Choice range.

Nose: Fresh mint and tropical fruit aromas with a subtle malty note. A floral edge develops with a trace of walnuts.

Palate: Black cracked pepper initially with peach and kiwi flavours. A sweet fudge edge lingers.

Bladnoch

John and Thomas McClelland opened Bladnoch malt whisky Distillery in 1817 on the northern bank of the River Bladnoch at Bladnoch Bridge just upstream from Wigtown in south west Scotland. Bladnoch Distillery is a small Scottish Lowlands malt whisky distillery and the most southerly of all Scotland’s working distilleries. Closed in 1993 but back in production again in 2000. Bladnoch Distillery is equipped with just two stills, produces peated and unpeated single malt whiskies and fills just a few hundred casks annually. Visitors welcome in the Bladnoch Distillery visitor centre where distillery tours are available.
