- Benriach 18 Year Old Albariza
BenRiach 18 Year Old Albariza Peated Speyside single malt Scotch whiskey. Double matured in Pedro Ximenez Sherry casks. The name 'Albariza' refers to the white soil with high chalk content typical of the Andalucia region in southern Spain, whose characteristics make it the best type of soil for growing the grapes used in the production of sherry. Limited release of 3,386 bottles.
Nose: Sweet dates and ripe figs engulfed in a unique heather honeyed peat smoke, softening to hints of ripped herbs and sweet barley.
Palate: A sweet, sherried character holds lashings of vanilla, chocolate and rum-soaked raisins; all drenched with waves of intense campfire peat reek and a subtle white pepper and stem ginger warmth.
