NEW SCOTCH: We have a fantastic, rare new whisky in stock. Ever heard of Garnheath Distillery? Probably not. Only producing whisky for 21 years between 1865 to 1986 before being demolished in 1988, whisky from this Lost Scottish Distillery is very hard to come by. Our friends at Independent bottling company Morrison & MacKay have released a very limited 41 year single grain bottling and we LOVE it. We had a wee taste and you can read our blog here: https://www.thewhiskybarrel.co.uk/blog/post/tasting-garnheath This one is rather special! Ben Nevis 10 Year Old Highland single malt Scotch whiskey.

Classy distillery bottling from the Fort William distillery. A big full bodied highland malt.

Soft oils, citrus notes and very big oak on the malt but has a sweetness that balances this out. On the finish it is long with hints of bitter roast coffee nestling against the sweet oils.

Ben Nevis

Ben Nevis Distillery is a Highland distillery situated at Inverlochy just north of Fort William on the west coast of Scotland and rests at the foot of Ben Nevis, Scotland’s highest mountain. Ben Nevis Distillery was established by John McDonald in 1825 and in order to meet the demand for fine Ben Nevis Highland malt whisky the Nevis Distillery was established in 1878. Nevis Distillery closed in 1908. A Coffey’s Still was installed in Ben Nevis Distillery in 1955 and both malt and grain whiskies were produced simultaneously until 1981. Ben Nevis Distillery welcomes visitors at the distillery visitor centre and offers tours of the distillery.
