Arran The Devil’s Punchbowl is a single malt Scotch whiskey limited release of 6,660 numbered bottles.
This cask strength vatting of 24 Arran casks includes 1996, 97, 98 & 2006 vintages with a mix of 11 ex-bourbon barrels and 13 sherry casks.
Nose: The nose is fresh and vibrant; a delightful combination of classic dried fruits, vanilla essence, along with spiced-wood aromas. A touch of butterscotch and orange zest with light peat in the background.
Palate: Palate is dominated by warm and rich sherry sweetness, prunes and apricots primarily, with hints of European oak, nutmeg, white pepper and muscovado sugar. Over time, a subtle touch of tobacco leaf and green tea emerges.
Finish: Lingering sweet and spicy notes with a delicate smoky twist towards the end.
Arran Single Malt Whiskey
Arran Distillery was commissioned by the Isle of Arran Distillers in 1995 and lies amid stunning scenery just to the south of Lochranza on the northern tip of the Isle of Arran. This distillery has four stills, dunnage warehouses, a visitor centre offering distillery tours and a distillery café. Arran distills both un-peated and peated malt spirit and matures its whiskey in sherry, bourbon, port and wine casks in order to produce an ever-evolving and expanding range of whiskies including Arran single malts such as Arran Machrie Moor and The Illicit Stills, and Arran blended scotch.
