Sleeping Warrior is a limited edition expression of Aran single malt matured in a combination of ex-sherry casks, bourbon and red wine casks.
The stunning profile of the summits and ridges on the north-end of the Isle of Arran is referred to as the Sleeping Warrior due to its resemblance to a resting human figure. A donation from every bottle sold of the Sleeping Warrior will be made to the National Trust for Scotland to help maintain the footpaths on Goatfell, Arran’s highest peak
Nose: Dark and brooding in colour, the Sleeping Warrior is rich and robust on the nose with aromas of liquorice, leather and boiled sweets.
Palate: Dark cherries and stewed fruits dominate the palate whilst a softer sweeter side emerges with water leading to lemon sherbet and toffee-apples.
Finish: With an enduring, spicy and complex conclusion this is indeed a true mountain of a malt.
Arran Single Malt Whiskey
Arran Distillery was commissioned by the Isle of Arran Distillers in 1995 and lies amid stunning scenery just to the south of Lochranza on the northern tip of the Isle of Arran. This distillery has four stills, dunnage warehouses, a visitor centre offering distillery tours and a distillery café. Arran distills both un-peated and peated malt spirit and matures its whiskey in sherry, bourbon, port and wine casks in order to produce an ever-evolving and expanding range of whiskies including Arran single malts such as Arran Machrie Moor and The Illicit Stills, and Arran blended scotch.
