NEW BLOG: We visited the brand new Isle of Harris Distillery last week as they celebrated their official grand opening. Today, they open to the public. And we can vouch for it being a fantastic new distillery and very welcoming to visitors. Can't wait for the whisky to roll out of here in a few years. Isle of Harris Distillers Ltd Huge congratulations to @Scotlandteam! What an effort - exhausted just watching! Drams all round! #RWC2015

Ardbeg 22 Year Old 1991 vintage Islay single malt Scotch whiskey. Single refill hosghead cask bottled May 2013 by Hunter Laing & Co. for the Old & Rare series. 127 bottles.

Opens with a sweet and velvety peat smoke nose, developing lighter notes of apricot and vanilla oak. Creamy peat smoke to taste combined with a  spiced apple and pear sweetness.  A very well rounded finish with some gentle smoke and fruit notes.

Ardbeg Distillery was established in Ardbeg on the Kildalton Peninsular on the Isle of Islay in 1815 by John McDougal. Ardbeg Distillery draws soft peaty water from Loch Uigeadail and Loch Airigh nam Beist up amongst the hills behind the distillery. Ardbeg Distillery is a participant in the world famous Feis Ile, the annual Islay Festival of Malt and Music. Visitors are welcome at the distillery visitor center which offers Ardbeg Distillery tours and serves delicious Scottish fare in the Ardbeg Café.
