Ichiro Akuto founded Chichibu whisky distillery in 2007 on the foothills of the Chichibu Mountains, north-west of Chichibu City, Japan. Chichibu Distillery malts some Japanese barley and is equipped with Japanese oak washbacks and two small stills.
