James McGregor built Balmenach Distillery in 1800 on the slopes of the Hills of Cromdale in Speyside. Balmenach is one of Scotland’s few malt whisky distilleries continuing to operate with traditional cast iron mash tun, wooden washbacks and worm tubs.
