Description
One of 500 bottles. St.Magnus festival is Orkney’s midsummer celebration of the arts. Founded in 1977 by Orkney’s distinguished resident composer Sir Peter Maxwell Davis, the Festival brings a feast of music and other arts to locations throughout the Orkney islands.
The 30th St Magnus Festival celebrated the life and work of Orkney’s greatest poet and storyteller George Mackay Brown, whose presence and writing graced the Festival from its inception until George’s death in 1996.
Distillery: Highland Park
An old hand on Orkney, founded 1798. Lots of time to perfect a sumptuous dram. The most northerly distillery in Scotland, the closest Scottish distillery to the Arctic Circle! Own floor malting, peat fire and real peat reek. Smooth, sweet, smoky sherry, dried fruit and a fine dusting of spice
Tasting Notes
Heather-honey sweetness; peaty smokiness. Rounded smoky sweetness; full malt delivery. Teasing, heathery, delicious.
