Distillery: Tomatin

Established in 1897 with its own spur line to the Inverness and Aviemore Direct Railway which opened in 1898 and finally connected Inverness to Perth and the southern markets. Operated with two stills until 1956 after which there were frequent and numerous additions culminating in 23 stills in 1986 making it the largest distillery in Scotland at that time.
