Ardbeg is generally peaty, rich, smooth and very complex. Sweet malt, sea salt, dried fruits and rich Islay peat reek. Subject to closures, most recent reopening was 1998; the new 10 year old will be unveiled in 2008.

Tasting Notes

Carries an iconic Islay style: big, phenolic, beachy. The palate starts softly – builds to seaweed, tar, creosote, ash.
