Distillery: Ardbeg
Ardbeg is generally peaty, rich, smooth and very complex. Sweet malt, sea salt, dried fruits and rich Islay peat reek. Subject to closures, most recent reopening was 1998; the new 10 year old will be unveiled in 2008.
Tasting Notes
Deliciously sweet notes of homemade fudge, liquorice and treacle toffee are the first aromas, followed by deep rich chocolate and cherries, dried fruits and chestnuts.
