Distillery: Port Charlotte
Port Charlotte is the name of the first new spirit produced by Bruichladdich distillery following the historic re-opening in 2001. In March 2007 Bruichladdich announced plans to reopen the Port Charlotte distillery on the site of the Lochindaal Distillery which closed in 1929.
Tasting Notes
Medium weight, alive, muscular, power-packed. No extra sensory perception required, it’s 100% gale force Islay. A rediscovery of hand-made single malt – the way it used to be. All the aromas found on the nose are swept onto the palate with incredible peat-fire warmth, filling the heart with passion. It’s young whisky and old skills in absolute harmony; not for the feint-hearted
