Description
A new small batch blended Islay Malt from Douglas Laing. A shovelful of single malts distilled at Ardbeg, Coal Ila, Bowmore and Port Ellen bottled unchillfiltered.
Winner Malt Maniacs 2009 "Best Peated Malt" award in the Daily Dram category.
Blended Whisky
Blended whisky is the product of blending different types of whiskies. It is generally the product of mixing one or more single malt whiskies (made from 100 percent malted grain such as barley) together with other grain whiskies or neutral grain spirits.
Tasting Notes
Pure Islay in a glass; unmistakable bellowing raw peat smoke, new-laid tar, salt, mint and medicinal aromas. On the plate is a smooth and warming full bodied malt brimmed with medicinal yummyness. If you have any inkling towards smoky Islay malts don't miss this one. TWB November 2009.
